The Pay Equity Act celebrated the one-year anniversary of its coming-into-force on August 31, 2022. This means that employers who are subject to the Act have two years left to develop and post their final pay equity plans.

To support federally regulated businesses with this task, the Pay Equity Unit at the Canadian Human Rights Commission has been busy producing resources and tools, answering questions, establishing processes and raising awareness about pay equity.

Recently, the Pay Equity Unit held its first ever Town Hall. The recording of this event will be available on the Canadian Human Rights Commission’s YouTube page.

In the near future, the Pay Equity Unit will be launching its first recorded webinar, its first podcast series on pay equity about challenges and opportunities in the transportation sector, and its first stakeholder survey to evaluate the services, tools and resources offered by the Commission.
