Canada to take on role of Chair of the EPIC Steering Committee - Highlights from the 4th Steering Committee

At the annual EPIC Steering Committee meeting, Canada agreed to take the role of Chair of the EPIC Steering Committee from January 2022. Representing the out-going Chair Switzerland, Sylvie Durrer thanked the members of the Steering Committee for the trust placed in her over the past three years and looks forward to supporting Canada as it transitions into its new role.

The meeting was also an opportunity for the Secretariat and Steering Committee members to share updates since the last Committee meeting in Berlin, in February 2020. The Secretariat announced the addition of 11 new Coalition members and provided information on the successful celebrations to mark the 1st ever International Equal Pay Day on 18th September 2020. Members shared many interesting initiatives and good practices on closing the gender gap in their countries and organizations, discussed the idea of expanding EPIC’s outreach, and explored the synergies with the Generation Equality Action Coalitions. Key discussions also focussed on setting the work plan and priorities for the EPIC Secretariat for the coming year.
