WHAT IS FORÉTICA DOING TO REDUCE THE GENDER PAY GAP?

Within our social impact area, one of main fields of action is facilitating corporate action to tackle gender gap. Our social impact cluster gathers 68 big companies with the objective to lead companies’ commitment and action towards equal-opportunity.

Specifically, we have worked with companies to understand why it´s important and who cares about gender pay gap. We trained the companies in different methodologies of measuring the gap and tools to analyse where it is generated. We also worked with them sharing best practices on action to tackle it and reinforcing the transparency and reporting. We also collaborate with public institutions in order to update our companies on regulation and trends on how to measure and report gender pay gap. One of our main research in this filed include the publication in 2019 of the document “Companies actions to close gender gap”.

Forética owns SGE 21, the first European standard on CSR and sustainability. Since 2000 the standard has allowed organisations to implement, audit and certify an ethical and socially responsible management system. It includes auditing formal commitments on gender equality and also actions towards equal pay for equal value for women and men. More than 150 companies, including Forética itself, are certified under this scheme. We also contribute to equal pay and reduce gender pay gap in our organization, by being transparent on our gap, managing it and reporting its figures and the actions taken to close it.

HOW CAN FORÉTICA LEAD THE CHANGE AND CONTRIBUTE TO ‘EQUAL PAY FOR EQUAL VALUE FOR WOMEN AND MEN?

Forética works every day to improve corporate action towards sustainability, specially regarding material social impacts as gender inequality and gender pay gap.

We work as a think tank allocating important resources to identify, capture and translate to our national context main sustainability and CSR trends, challenges and opportunities within a global context and best practices throughout the world.

As an open forum, we work with different stakeholders to promote dialogue, alliances and action to transform main sustainability challenges like gender gap. Being a credible voice among relevant players in gender equality helps us moving to action to companies of all sizes.

Our commitment for gender equality goes beyond our network, and our strong international allies helps scaling out our impact. We are Spain’s only representative of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), National Partner Organization of CSR Europe, GRI Organizational Stakeholder and part of World Benchmarking Alliance.
