EPIC Annual Technical Meeting 2025: Advancing equal pay in the Beijing+30 era

29 Oct 2025

The Equal Pay International Coalition (EPIC), co-led by the ILO, OECD and UN Women, held its Annual Technical Meeting 2025 on 18–19 September at UN Women Headquarters in New York under the theme “Achieving Equal Pay for Work of Equal Value in the Beijing+30 Era.”

The EPIC Annual Technical Meeting is the Coalition’s flagship members-only event, held every year to bring together governments, employers’ and workers’ organizations, private-sector representatives, academia and civil-society partners. Following the 2024 meeting in Paris and the 2023 edition in Geneva, this year’s gathering once again offered an inspiring space for members to exchange experiences, share state-of-the-art research and showcase the latest tools and innovations on pay equity.

Opening remarks by Maíra Lacerda, Head of the Special Advisory Office for International Affairs at Brazil’s Ministry of Labour and Employment and Chair of EPIC, and Rakesh Patry, Director General for International and Intergovernmental Labour Affairs, Government of Canada and EPIC Co-Chair, highlighted the Coalition’s continued growth and its role as a unique global platform advancing equal pay for work of equal value.

Throughout the two days, discussions explored new data, legislative trends, and business and social dialogue innovations to close the gender pay gap. The meeting featured lively working groups and a showcase session of practical tools and good practices from across the membership. Each session reinforced EPIC’s reputation as an invaluable global repository of knowledge, policy innovation and peer learning on pay equity.

As EPIC moves toward the Beijing+30 milestone, members reaffirmed their shared commitment to accelerating progress and expanding collaboration. The Coalition continues to grow as a dynamic space where evidence, ideas and partnerships come together to advance one clear goal: achieving equal pay for work of equal value everywhere.
