Globally, unequal pay is one of the most persistent barriers to women’s economic empowerment, and long-standing gender inequities have been amplified in the context of COVID-19. Moving towards a human-centred recovery requires that equal pay be addressed as an issue which everyone can contribute to and benefit from. This virtual side event will focus on the key role of a collaborative approach between governments, workers’ and employers’ organizations, and the private sector in advancing equal pay. The event is organized by the Government of Canada, in collaboration with EPIC and co-sponsored by the United Kingdom.
