The 2018 Regulations of Registration and Licensing of Private and International Schools safeguard the salaries of private school teachers - the majority of whom are women - by requiring employers to deposit their salaries electronically, through bank transfers or e-wallets only. Jordan adopted the provisions on pay equity in May 2019. It is currently working on its enforcement through the National Committee for Pay Equity with the support of the ILO.
